Post without a title :)

Once again good sunny spring day to all!

I spend all day yesterday on a turnaround to Athens (yes, it's only a turnaround, what a shame) and when I landed, turned my phone on, emails started coming, emails with comments on my last post here from You my lovely readers...
After such a long tiring day it has been an apsolute pleasure and surprise to read them all!
First of all beacuse I have no idea how many people saw my blog and how many of them are actually reading it (always thought I'm writing it for my closest ones and maybe one or two of you out there :) , second surprise was that you have suggestions and ideas for more posts and that is just GREAT! Keep on doing it please and I'll try as hard as I can to write about what you would like to know and read about :)
Sooo, instead of thanking each and sigle one of you I'll write this post just and only for YOU! :)

Ok, let's start from the first one... Little Miss Twiggy :)

First of all let me tell you something, she is one of my oldest and bestest friends in this World! Beautiful, kind, smart, warm, funny as hell...you name it :) She'll keep my feet on the ground when I start drifting on my pink cloud even though she's a dreamer herself, she'll spend hours with me on skype and whatsapp laughing or crying, she'll organize my dream wedding one day :), comfort me with junk food, support my decisions no matter what she thinks or feels about them...
I can go on and on, but I miss home and my girls so much these days that I'll stop myself and just say - thank her cause she is the reason I started writing this blog in the first place!

Also I have to promote her so if you like fashion you should visit her beautiful blog as well ;)
http://www.littlemisstwiggy.blogspot.ae/

I don't really know what to answer on her comment that I haven't said in these few sentences, so just simple I love you :)

Anonymous 1 and 2 who would like me to write about life in Dubai... I'm preparing that post for some time now and don't know where to start or finish, so many things to say but I don't wanna write a novel here :) So these guidelines you gave me and questions are gonna help me to sum all that up into something you're interested about.

There was one more comment on my previous post that I should write down all the places I have visited since I started working here... That one is in themaking as well as the one about my job in general. Soon you'll know a little bit more about Dubai itself and all my flights in the last year.

To Beatriz from Lisbon - there are groups on facebook where you can find people (and me) who are cabin crew and ask them whatever you want, or just write directly to me ;)

To Manuela from Spain - I want and am trying to make this blog to be exactly the way you see it and and thank you for it.
Age limit? Don't know about that, doesn't say anywhere, only that you have to be 21 to apply. Don't think they will look at your age if they like you and if they think you would be a good flight attendant, the kind they are looking for, so why don't you give it try, you never know where can it take you if you attend one of their open days! ;)

Do I know other blogs or bloggers like me? The first one on my mind is my friend Miss E

This is her blog so check it out, I'm sure you'll like it as well! :)
http://our-truesecret.blogspot.ae/

To Lortea - crew accommodation buildings? There are so many, just think about where and how would you accommodate 16000 people :)
You know you'll receive an email few days before you come and they will tell you name of the building you're staying, so ask me then and I'll tell you what I know if I know, deal? :)
There are buildings in the 'centre', the ones in the desert and those 'in between' :) so I would rather for you to be positively surprised if you get the good one than disappointed if you get not so good one, know what I mean? :)

To the curious one...here are the answers ;)

1. My name is Tea. Yes yes very funny but no, you don't pronounce it as 'tea or coffee' or nescaffe of green tea (I've heard it all believe me).

The meaning of my name comes from a greek word thea which means goddess, I read somewhere that my name came from Italian and it means wild rose, and there was an Indian girl who told me that in Hindu my name means singing bird. If you know how to pronounce the name of an actress Tea Leoni - that's it!
(ha! in your face all of you who don't have interesting name as I do so you're making fun of mine :P )

2. My age - 26 - not ashamed to say it, not yet, haha

3. Answer to this question will be a whole new post but I have visited all the continents now, can proudly say, before this job and working here and it is very hard to pick one! I felt good in so many places, seen a lots of beautiful cities, met great people and had amazing time in not such an amazing destinations. It all depends on who you're with, what do you do there, how do you feel... But I'll say it again - no place like Europe! :) (only New York can measure with it...)

4. PRO - experience, new friends, traveling, lifestyle, freedom, stories to tell, learning new things all the time, cherishing small things in life you have maybe taken for granted before...
CON - being away from your loved ones all the time, changes you notice in/on your body, lost in time and space hehe (confusion in time zones), that awful thought about how am I going to make it when I get back home to normal life and 9 to 5 office job? :))

5. I love to eat! I love food ! And food loves me! Just not Asian cuisine, but everything else :) So there's no way I can choose one thing or one favorite restaurant :)
Alcoholic drink...hmmm depends on occasion - vodka sprite or bacardi cola for a night out, rakija at any time (!), cocktails in summertime in my small place on the coast, Baileys with ice on the plane (when traveling as a passanger of course), Baileys or Amarula with icecream for a movie night with my Adri, and a cold radler beer on a hot day back home, sitting on my favorite square in town, white vine with my sister, girls or that 'special someone' on a quiet night at home or dinner in a restaurant...

Is that an answer? :D I'm just drinking a beer I brought from Prague :)

6. Can't say I have a favorite place in Dubai as well, cause I haven't seen all of it still but so far, for clubbing I like Cirque du Soir, and during the day I like to sit outside Dubai mall, by the fountains and have lunch or a drink.

7. My nationality...guess :) I'll give you a hint, the capital of my country is in the name of my blog :)

8. About my favorite person in Dubai you already had the opportunity to read, her name is Adrijana. We met in Munich airport coming to Dubai, we live next to each other, we were in the same batch, and if I didn't have her here I would go nuts long time ago :D You always need that someone to talk to or to be quiet with, and I'm happy to have her from now until forever!

9 Safety and emergency procedures -SEP - it was fun, interesting, we had great trainers and it changed my way of looking on 'all those safety advices' you get when you fly and take them for granted...

And finally the last one... Uf I already have enough material for a few chapters in my book that I'm planning to write some day haha :)
10.  I didn't wanted to join, I didn't even know what was an open day, I was just jobless for a long time and decided to go and see what was that add all about.
The only thing I understood was - traveling and making money hehe. So I went that morning without a single thought in my mind, just desoerate to find a job or just a getaway ticket out of there, by the time presentation about the job and Dubai finished I knew this is what I want, I knew that was a job for me, and here I am... :)

And the last but not the least to Anonymous from Melbourne/Sydney/Zagreb, don't know where to put you :) - I totally agree with you and I hope we will start flying to Zagreb as well! We don't know what are they planning to do or when but sure we're hoping for that route to be open sometimes in the future, a near one :)

Kisses and hugs to all the others from Italy, Australia, Camille from Dubai and all the rest! Hope I did satisfied a little bit of your curiosity for today, and if you have more questions, ideas, comments...bring them on :)) I'll be happy to answer :)

Now packing for tomorrow's Jakarta... and keep reading cause...

In the heart of Europe...

Good morning everyone :)

New post about one more layover, one more destination, one more awesome day to remember! :)

Simply put - it was one of the best layovers I had so far!
Why? Because! There's no special reason, just the feeling about it in general!

Feeling like s**t that morning, not sleeping well, just wanting to stay in my bed hugging a pillow and waiting for 'the better tomorrow' I forced myself to put my uniform, red lipstick and a fake smile ON and go to Prague...
Since the briefing everything started turning out good, better, great at the end! And in a second that fake smile changed into a big sincere one! :D

Was it the crew who were great? Or the nice and polite customers? Warm sunny day? Steping outside the airport feeling so close to home? Or just the fact I'm in Europe once again? Oh, that smell of Europe!!!

Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

All those familiar things around you, language that you can ALMOST half-understand :D
Guy on a reception who speaks your language and recommedns a great 'balkan' restaurant with all that yummy food and drinks from Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia... :))
One whole day of walking and enjoying the city!

Prague Castle
According to Guinness book of records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world, it occupies an area of almost 70 000 m²!

The history of the castle stretches back to the 9th century (870).

Toy Museum :)

Old historical places, funny interesting things, great food and drinks and nice people to share all of that with, everything you see, hear, smell, taste, try feels great in a city like Prague.
City with a soul! Something that I don't feel anywhere else I go to...
Maybe I'm just not the most objective one but there's no place like Europe :)

Crawling babies sculptures near Charles bridge are a big inspiration for lots of pics :))

John Lennon Wall
Once a normal wall, since the 1980s it has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles songs.

Today, the wall represents a symbol of youth ideals such as love and peace, but back in the days was a source of irritation for the communist regime.
Even when the wall was repainted by some authorities, on the second day it was again full of poems and flowers.

Colorful and fun, is a different way of preserving history...

"...You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one..."

Charles Bridge represents the oldest Prague Gothic bridge connecting the Old Town and the Lesser Town. Initially it was simply known as the Stone Bridge or Prague Bridge. The bridge has actually been known as “Charles Bridge” since 1870.

The bridge is decorated with 30 sculptures and groups of statues.
On both ends of the bridge there are the bridge towers – the Old Town Bridge Tower and the Lesser Town Bridge Tower.

Something interesting to know about :)

The oldest sculpture was dedicated to St. Jan Nepomucký (John of Nepomuk).
Jan Nepomucký used to be a favoured saint of poor people.
The story goes that he refused to tell the confessional secrets of Queen Žofie to her husband King Wenceslas IV which led to him being tortured to death.
The main attributes of the Jan Nepomucky sculpture include five stars above his head, surplice, cross and a palm of torture.
According to legend stars appeared on the water surface above his head after he had been thrown from the bridge into the river. Stars are the sign of the Latin word „tacet“, which means keep silent.

The plaque on the statue of John of Nepomuk had been polished to a shine by many people who had touched it over the centuries. Tradition says that if you rub the bronze plaque (the one depicting St John being thrown off the bridge), you will one day return to Prague.
Sure hope so! :)

On the bridge rail you can find a five star cross marking the place from where Jan Nepomucky was thrown to his watery grave.

River Vltava

The Prague Astronomical Clock - was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working.

...after so many history lessons and walking all over we went to that restaurant
with 'our' home-comfort-food :D
If you ever find yourself in Prague and you want a big portion of Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian specialties like 'ćevapi', 'kremÅ¡nite' or baklava, amazing white vine or 'rakija' shots
go to LUKA LU!
(near Charles Bridge - Ujezd 33)
;))

And that day I had very demanding appetite :D

...that said I just had my demanding appetite open  again so it's time to make
some breakfast? Lunch? Brunch? :)

Bon appetit! :)

01 April 2013

Wishes do come true!

Dear March, we fit perfectly together, and thank you once again for being so great to me :)

"Make a wish and place it in your heart,
anything you want, everything you want!
Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true.
You never know where the next miracle's gonna come from, the next memory,
the next smile, the next wish come true...
But if you believe that it's right around the corner,
you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it, to the certainity of it,
you just might get the thing you wished for.
The world is full of magic, you just have to believe in it! So make your wish, do you have it? Good...now believe in it... With all your heart!"

This year's blowing candles was a little bit different then all those years before,
can't say it was better or more special, just differently great!

Auckland...

Waking up in a hotel room at the end of the world where is already tomorrow, thinking how no one remembered my bday when actually all of my friends and family were still in 'yesterday' :)
Sunshine on my window, chocolate milk for breakfast and one special text mssg was my New Zealand's morning.

On the way back to Brisbane, already prepared for a flight the Captain made a PA calling us to first class for briefing. First thing on our minds - DELAY! Of course, what else?
We all came and the Captain started saying there's something wrong with this aircraft, totally serious voice and face, but he couldn't keep it long and he said ''There is something wrong, not with the aircraft, but we have a birthday to celebrate so we have to make it to Brisbane in time to do so!'' and the Purser came around the corner with a chocolate cake and candles!

It was a real genuine surprise, all of them started to sing and wish me all the best, and I almost started crying, being so far away from everyone I know and love but still being able to feel special for my bday, with complete strangers who made it happen for me for no reason at all, except the fact they understand the feeling...
Pull it together! Make a wish and blow those candles away to that magical place where all your wishes are waiting in line to come true, wish number I-don't-even-count-anymore take a ticket and wait for your turn :)
So I did, once again, wishing for...well I shouldn't say it out loud, right? :)

We ate the cake and took off to Brisbane for dinner and drinks. It was a good day and night, the cherry on top was skyping time with my favourite ones back home...

I will repeat myself and wonder againg over the thought how on that day last year I've received a phone call from the company congratulating me on my new job, and this year I had a chance to celebrate it in a way not many people can...
For the past 365 days I've been lucky, brave and strong, was left breathless and amazed so many times. I've traveled a little bit :)
I've felt, seen, tried, tasted - experienced. I've laughed, loved, kissed, learned, enjoyed, gave and received, shared and helped... I've changed and had lots of fun - I've lived!
And I still do, each and every day!!! ♥
So keep on blowing all those birthday candles cause some wishes do come true! :)

You just have to wish real hard and believe in it...

Coming back from a 6 day trip I went to see my Miss A and tell her all about it, just like we do it every day, and there she was, waiting for me with lunch, another 'cake' (the best one possible!) and a gift on the table... What again made me wanna cry over another small thought that ran through my mind how some people come into your life so randomly, and they become friends for a lifetime! You share so much in such a short period of time that you don't even realize it untill you read a dedication like the one she wrote for me... <3
Sorry for that little tear in my eye, again (!!!) :) I'm just being a little sentimental these days, sniff sniff :)

Cake made of crepes with nutela and strawberries...mmmm...

This job doesn't really allow you lots of planning specially not with all of your friends so I had to find a day in the month when the most of us were off to have another dinner and drinks night of celebrating (yes, I've warned you I'll be celebrating the whole month) :)
We went to a small spanish restaurant, had paellas, sangrias and a great time all together.

I've treated myself :)

At the end they've surprised me with another gift, fulfilling one of my wishes, crossing over one more thing form my bucket list - swimming with dolphins!!!
Thank you guys for being so wonderful and making me happy like a child in a candy store! :)

So today, Miss A, Miss I and me went for that dolphin adventure and spent a whole day enjoying like we're on a small vacation... Acctually we saw how other people (tourists) see Dubai when they come here for a week or two and how different it is from how we see it... But that is a completely different story :) never mind, it was an awesome day, I had so much fun with this little doplhin Blacky that I can't even describe... I don't know how to! They are amazing, smart, funny, gentle, beautiful, wonderful creatures... Half an hour passed by in a second...
You have to experience it once in your life (or twice hehe)...
Maybe when I quit my job I'll go work with them for some time, enjoy the sun and water and most of all a good dolphin company :))
